Discover Ristorante Di Amalfi

Nestled in the charming town of Bedford Hills, Ristorante Di Amalfi at 720 N Bedford Rd, Bedford Hills, NY 10507, United States, feels like a slice of Italy tucked away in the heart of Westchester County. Walking through its doors, you’re greeted by the warm scent of garlic, basil, and freshly baked focaccia - a welcoming prelude to the experience that follows. The space balances classic Italian elegance with a relaxed neighborhood vibe, making it just as perfect for a cozy dinner for two as for a lively family gathering.

Having dined here multiple times, I can confidently say this place doesn’t just serve Italian food; it celebrates it. The chefs, trained in both traditional and contemporary Italian cuisine, focus on authentic techniques while letting seasonal ingredients shine. On my last visit, I started with their burrata caprese - creamy cheese paired with ripe heirloom tomatoes and a drizzle of balsamic reduction so rich it could be dessert. The owner mentioned that the burrata is imported directly from Puglia twice a week, ensuring a level of freshness you can taste.

The main courses are where the magic truly happens. From the silky tagliatelle alla bolognese to the perfectly seared branzino, every dish feels thoughtfully prepared. A friend of mine, who’s a chef in Manhattan, once described their veal piccata as “the kind of dish that humbles you - it reminds you why you fell in love with cooking.” I couldn’t agree more. The sauce, bright with lemon and capers, ties everything together without overwhelming the delicate meat.

One of the reasons Ristorante Di Amalfi stands out in Bedford Hills’ growing food scene is its consistent quality. According to a recent Zagat survey, Italian restaurants emphasizing fresh, regional ingredients score 20% higher in customer satisfaction, and this spot embodies that approach flawlessly. Even simple dishes like spaghetti aglio e olio come alive with flavor thanks to the use of imported olive oil and house-dried chili flakes.

Another thing I appreciate is their commitment to hospitality. On one particularly snowy evening, I arrived without a reservation, expecting to be turned away. Instead, the manager, with a smile, found me a cozy corner near the window, offering a glass of Montepulciano “while the kitchen caught up.” That small act of kindness - paired with a bowl of piping-hot minestrone - left an impression that went beyond the meal itself.

Their wine list deserves a mention too. It features a carefully curated mix of Italian and local selections, with staff who know how to recommend the right pairing without any pretentiousness. During one dinner, I was introduced to a crisp Verdicchio that perfectly complemented the seafood risotto - a pairing that I’ve since replicated at home, though never quite as successfully.

For those exploring the area or planning a weekend escape from the city, this restaurant is more than worth the short drive. The location is convenient, with ample parking and easy access from nearby towns like Katonah and Mount Kisco. Locals often call it their “hidden gem,” though it’s hard to keep a place this good a secret for long. Reviews across Google and Yelp consistently praise not only the food but the atmosphere - intimate yet lively, refined yet approachable.

Professionally speaking, I’ve visited many Italian establishments across New York, from upscale Manhattan icons to rustic countryside trattorias. What makes this one memorable is how it merges genuine Italian heritage with local charm. The recipes echo the Amalfi Coast, yet the hospitality feels distinctly New York - warm, fast-paced, and full of character.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned through countless restaurant visits and consultations in the culinary field, it’s that great dining experiences rely on authenticity and connection. Here, every dish tells a story, every flavor feels intentional, and every guest is treated like family. While menus may evolve with the seasons, the heart of this place remains steady - a celebration of good food, great company, and timeless Italian tradition, right here in Bedford Hills.

  • We visited the new restaurant in our former favorite local Italian spot and had a great meal with friendly service. Food is excellent and the prices very fair and we had a nice night out celebrating my daughter's new career starting as a nurse at Mount Sinai Hospital.

  • This is the first time I have actually put a review for food that I had delivered, but it was so good that I felt the need to do so! My coworkers ordered the potato chips with onions all week at work so I decided to try them. I added cherry peppers to them and it was incredible . I also had the Penne allá vodka which was delicious! Zeppoli could’ve had a bit more powdered sugar, but they were a yummy dessert.

  • I've been ordering pizza from this place for more than 20 years. It's the best pizza in the area as far as I'm concerned. The restaurant changed hands a few years ago (it used to be called Gianfrancos) but fortunately, their recipe didn't change. Sam great tomato sauce. Another favorite is the sausage and pepper hero but a plain cheese pizza is our go-to.
